I can’t believe its the end of summer break for my family!  Ollie starts kindergarten next week and I just can’t believe it. Our last baby going into school full time. We wrapped up the end of summer break at lake Powell.  We went boating, tuning and surfing. it’s been a couple years since we’ve been here – it’s so beautiful! If you’ve never been, there’s no lake like it! Feels like you’re in another planet.

Now I am in full back to school mode and feeling ready for transitioning my closet to fall!! Craving feeling cozy again. Excited I just found this suede bucket bag that’s really similar to the Madewell bag I wore on repeat last year, and its on sale 40% off! I just got this quarter zip for under $30 and its such a great transitional piece. These cami tanks I’ve still been wearing on repeat. I’ve loved them for summer and they will be perfect under sweatshirts this fall.

I recently got these quarter zip pullovers and love them so much!  I got both the ribbed version and the smoother version. They remind of of Varley for a fraction of the price!  They work perfect with shorts now and I’ll wear them with jeans or sweatpants this fall. The full top + shorts set here is under $50!

Still getting lots of wear out of these wide leg white pants!  These tanks I’ve still been wearing on repeat. Love that they are so thick – double lined and smooth you out. The kids were heading out with their friends the other night and they looked so cute I snapped a pic. Wes loves these oversized basic tees. Cody loves them too and I wear them as oversized comfy tees. I really like the brown one! They are such a great basic staple and they are under $10! They come in a bunch of colors.  Mara loves these double lined camis I have too so we grabbed her a couple colors!  She wore the black one like 5 days of the week 😂 These are the same jeans I linked above that she has in another color and loves!

These straight leg, non-distressed jeans are such a classic every day pair. I had the distressed bottom one for YEARS and loved them so much I recently got this new wash with the clean hem. Wearing with my MUST HAVE favorite hoodie in this new-ish green color. I love it! These are the comfiest hoodies ever. My entire family is obsessed!!

I’ve had these wide leg grey sweatpants for years now and they are my all time fav – SO comfy cozy, my entire family loves them too! Paired with this camo zip up hoodie for the perfect lounge / errands outfit.

The other pair of jeans I wear on heavy rotation are these low rise, wide leg jeans. They are just so comfy, I find myself reaching for these a ton. Paired it with the same hoodies we love but in the full zip version – we love these too!  I also love these hoodies to throw on over workout clothes!

I recently got these bra- free, double lined camis and tees from Abercrombie. They are SO flattering – they are a thick, tighter material and they smooth me out but are so comfy. I love both the tee version and the cami version – both on sale!

Mens and kids jeans are on sale too!  My teenage son Wes is 15 so wearing mens jeans that are included in the denims sale and Ollie is in the kids wide leg jeans also on sale. I loved that Ollie wanted to match Wes!! Perfect time to order for back to school clothes!

Mara loves the low rise wide leg jeans too – we both got these! She’s in women’s jeans, perfect for teen girls back to school shopping! She’s also wearing the zip up hoodie and black cami here. She kept borrowing mine I ordered some for her for back to school.

Every holiday I look forward to doing a cute craft with the kids. Honestly we love crafts year round, but the holidays always bring out the cutest craft sets and I was instantly obsessed when I found this wooden egg painting kit for Easter! Next thing I knew I was setting up a little craft tablescape to do with the kids– Ollie couldn’t wait to paint some of his eggs 😂 but we saved the other half to paint once Mara, Wes, and Beckam got home that day. I set out a few snacks and treats for the kids and it turned into such a fun afternoon.

The craft kit itself is so perfect for any age. It comes with the cutest egg carton and paint set. Ollie got a little hands on with them and I love how they turned out even as a 2 year old! It makes a great keepsake to remember that age by. The older kids loved it too – it’s so fun to see their art skills and creativity develop. 💜 I also love the idea as an adult if you want a specific color scheme or pattern to decorate for Easter while letting your creativity out at the same time.

AMAZON BARELY THERE BRAS

I just got this bra on Amazon after hearing amazing reviews about the brand and they are so worth they hype. I’m almost always in a sports bra or bralette just for comfort but these bras are super lightweight, no underwire, and feel like they are barely there. Also got this nude one – love the thick straps.

MATCHING LOUNGEWEAR SETS

I’ve also been finding the best two piece sets lately – I’ve shared a few of my favorites on stories like this full sleeve short set (under $40!) and these cute tie-dye sets (under $30). This fuzzy 3 piece set is also so good in person. It comes in tons of colors and is under $50. Love the high-waisted pants and cropped tank and the sweater is such a cozy touch.

When I saw this cute little sherpa baby coat it triggered a memory of me and Beckam in matching sherpa and UGG boots (posting below) so I wanted to recreate it with Ollie! UGG boots were one of my first big purchases when I was in high school – I was so proud of them haha! They are still a staple today – my kids all have a pair and love them too. I just got this short version after seeing them style with more relaxed jeans or joggers and sweats. Since they are a little shorter there’s less bunching so you can style them with more than just your favorite leggings. Finding matching mama and boy clothes is sometimes then girl clothes – but sherpa and uggs is an easy universal way to coordinate.

These leggings are one of the best baby basics. They are great gender neutral color combo and they also come in a pretty deep green set and a navy set. You can’t have enough of these! So comfortable and versatile.

Ollie’s first birthday party! Love how the teddy theme turned out!

OUR BABY BOY TURNED 1!! I seriously can’t even believe it. How is he ONE! It was birthday marathon at our house last week. Wes birthday was the 26th, Ollies was the 30th, and Cody and my moms birthday was on the 4th. So it was party after party 🙂 The day before Ollie’s birthday I cried my eyes out haha. Cody and I went on a date night and in the middle of dinner I just started crying. Knowing this is most likely our last baby, all these emotions just hit thinking about how much he’s grown, our time at the NICU when he was born, it was just a flood of emotions. But then on his actual birthday it was just PURE JOY. When I was little I got a teddy bear I carried everywhere named Oso (spanish for bear – I was fluent in Spanish as a little girl 🥰). So I was up super late one night (my creativity always hits super late at night) and it hit me how cute would a teddy bear theme be for his first birthday! I found this ADORABLE bear that’s actually the same brand as the one I had growing up. 🙂 So I ended up using that teddy bear as inspo for the theme and love how it turned out, especially with all the fall tones.

We used Pop Park City for the balloons and Alphalit SLC for the letters. I have used them for other events and they are seriously SO TALENTED. They made custom ballon colors to match my vision, and the balloon tassels, and confetti balloon are all hand made so they match the balloons perfectly. It was seriously even prettier in person if you can believe it! The darkest balloons are a gorgeous dark brown (hard to see it in pictures they read a little more black here but soooo gorgeous in real life). They put so much detail into it and come to your house and set it up – such an amazing service! (They also have no-contact delivery if you prefer.)

I am so in love with all these pics, I can’t wait to make a little book out of them for memories.

FALL IS HERE!! I always get so inspired and excited by fall! From the fashion, to the colorful leaves, to the weather and getting cozy by the fire, it’s hands down my favorite time of year. This year I wanted to share my fall checklist – I put together a list of everything I want to fit in this fall so you can follow along!

• Decorate the front porch for fall. Get in the fall spirit with a pretty wreath, pumpkins, mums, and a festive doormat – how cute is this one!
• Go on a hike to see all the leaves changing colors. The first thing we checked off our fall checklist was a trip to check out the leaves changing color. Last Sunday after church we headed on an impromptu hike. We went up the canyon this past weekend and just pulled over at a random spot and started hiking. A couple have asked what hike and honestly NO idea cause we just pulled off a spot we liked, but it was in Big Cottonwood Canyon. So gorgeous!
• Leaf Animals. If you guys caught my stories this weekend, the kids collected pretty leaves from our hike to make a craft of little leaf animals. They all turned out sooooo cute! Mara made an elephant, Wes a parrot, and Beckam a bug. They make the perfect decor for fall and also a sentimental keepsake as the kids grow up.
• Put together a yummy fall charcuterie board. I’ve seen some fall-themed charcuterie boards and now I’ve got the bug! Can’t wait to put together a cute charcuterie with all things fall!
• Go apple picking. I have never done this and have always wanted to! I’m hoping to find a cute place to go this year!
• Sit by the fire. One of the things covid has taught me is too slow down. Be more present. As things have started opening up, I don’t want to loose that, so this is a reminder to be still, enjoy the fire, and sip on apple cider and write in my journal.
• Dance to the Monster Mash. Family dance party!
• Go to the pumpkin patch + pumpkin carving. Ok this one is kind of a given but it has been a family tradition and I always look forward to it, but even more so this year with Ollie being old enough to enjoy it. 🙂
• Hunt down the best fall candles. I can almost guarantee I’ll have a fall candle burning every day from now to the holidays, starting with all those yummy fall scents! I’ve been burning this one on repeat and also love this one.
• Dress up your fur-monster. The kids LOVE dressing up Mio in different costumes. Extend the halloween spirit to your cute little fur babies.
• Flash light sleepover. Let all the kids pile in your room or living room and do a sleepover with just flashlights, no power and tell stories (if you like scary stories you can go that route, but I’m a wimp so we will probably not go that route haha)
• Get a festive fall manicure. Give me all the fall mani inspo!! I can’t wait for my next manicure to try out some pretty fall tones.
• Frightfest.  Watch a classic scary movie every night leading up to Halloween. We love movie night! There are tons of Halloween movies so you’ll have plenty to pick from leading up to Halloween, whether you go the family-friendly Hocus Pocus route or more of a classic thriller with your friends or S/O. I HATE real scary movies so I always opt for the family friendly ones haha.
• Update your family pictures. Fall is the perfect time to schedule some new family photos. I’ve been on the hunt for some good/new shoot locations around SLC that I’ll be sharing soon, but anything in the mountains, in front of trees with leaves turning colors, or even a cool urban downtown shoot would be perfect in fall when the light tends to be softer – plus you can add more layers for cuter coordinating outfits. 😉
• Bake a pie from scratch. Time to start perfect your fall pie recipes!
• Give back. It’s so important to Cody and me to teach the kids the important of giving back, so every year we try to find a local charity to support where the kids can participate. I love the idea of finding local charities that are collecting food or coats/blankets for people who need it, especially as temperatures start to drop.
• Jump in the leaves. No explanation needed 🙂
• Have a chili/soup competition with prizes for the best recipe. With my parents living in Utah for the winter, I can’t wait to take advantage of all my dad’s yummy fall recipes!
• Snuggle up in a new sweater / refresh my fall wardrobe. I’ve been in major online shopping mode! Just got this and this – I’ll be sharing more of my favorite buys later this week!
• Book a cabin getaway in the mountains.  Every year I am in awe of how beautiful Utah is and I could spend hours on Instagram just in awe over all the gorgeous New England towns with the leaves changing for fall. Fall is the best time to book a little getaway to enjoy some fresh mountain air and the cozy small town vibes.

With a 5 year gap between Beckam and Ollie, it’s almost like I’m having to learn everything all over again. There are so many new brands and products that it’s almost like starting fresh (with the exception of some tried and true products :). I think one of the biggest differences is all the cute baby clothes especially for boys! I loved dressing B up, but I feel like there are so many more options now. One of my newfound favorites is Kyte Baby. I was introduced to them a couple months ago and they have THE SOFTEST clothes ever! (Also hosting a giveaway on my IG – keep reading for details!)

APPAREL:

I love their selection of baby clothes! Their pieces are made out of bamboo (which helps regulate baby’s temperature) and soooo buttery soft! Honestly I was shook by how soft their products are. Not only do they have a great variety of silhouettes, they also have amazing color options and prints (how good is this rainbow print?!). The zippered footies are worth their weight in gold! They have a textured bottom to give them extra grip while babies/toddlers stand or start to walk. They also have toddler sizes up size 7 so you can get matching pajama sets for Beckam.

SLEEP BAGS:

One of the biggest tips I learned from working with a professional sleep trainer for Ollie was the importance of sleep sacks. They make a huge difference! Not only is it a sleep cue to help them get in their bedtime routine, but it helps prevent them from crawling out of the crib as they get older. Kyte Baby’s sleep bags are all temperature regulated, so you can use a thicker one during winter and a thinner one during summer. Such a good idea and again, so many great color options.

NURSERY/HOME:

Kyte Baby also has tons of pieces for the nursery and home. Their blankets are also made out of their super soft bamboo material (they have baby, kid, and adult blankets). The crib sheets are on my wish list but they sell out fast. Tons of color options but you just have to move quick when you see the color you want. 🙂 They also have a bath collection with robes from baby to adult, washcloths, brushes, and more. Need to try!

We are still trying to figure out landscaping for our backyard – so many of you guys weighed in on the pool debate so now it’s back in the running, haha. But we felt like we weren’t taking advantage of our backyard space, so when I found this cute kids’ patio set on sale I thought it would be the perfect solution. We had some left over gravel from another landscaping project, so we put it down to buy us some time before we decide if we are doing a pool area, pavers, grass, etc. I love the color combo and it’s all good quality but still lightweight so the kids can move it around easily. Both Cody and I still sit on it, even though its kids sizes, so it’s become a fun new hang out spot in the backyard. There’s no better way to break it in than with some yummy snacks. Mara usually loves playing server but all the kids loved hanging out on their new patio set while I put together some snacks for them.

I found some cute outdoor pieces for 4th of July – loved these striped and checkered napkins and got these reusable straws which are perfect for a backyard BBQ or any festive celebrations.  Also linking to our outfits and other cute summer pieces below. Hope you guys had a great Memorial Day weekend! It was the most normal life has felt in a while, hanging outside, getting to see some family, and of course it doesn’t officially feel like summer until you’re in a swimsuit! Hey guys! Happy Friday, how is everyone feeling? I honestly thought it was Friday like 3 different days this week haha. Today’s post is about one of my go to bags. You guys have seen me use this leather bag for years – even well before I had Ollie I used it as a travel bag (perfect addition to any airport look!). I have it in both this beige color and cognac and they go with everything. They are also super spacious, so if you have kids you can fit everything from diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and toys to your essentials. Or for traveling I fit everything I need mid-flight: my laptop, chargers, an extra sweatshirt, snacks, etc. It’s also a female-founded company and the owner, Jenny, is one of my good friends. She is such an amazing inspiring woman, so even more during these times I want to support people I love and believe in.

The older I get, the more I appreciate good loungewear. Not only does a cozy, oversized sweater and jogger combo make for the perfect outfit to wear for a day at home, but you can also split them up and wear them out as separates. I can’t count how many times I’m running errands or heading to the mall in a good pair of sweats and sneakers – they are pretty much my uniform this season! Here are three ways to upgrade your loungewear to make them feel streetwear worthy.

1. Set it up: There’s nothing better than a matching loungewear set! For me, the most wearable sets are the ones that are neutral and monochromatic. That I can also wear out with sneakers for those mom days I don’t make it out of my sweats haha. I love the matching grey in this set for a simple, sophisticated look. Keeping it neutral also makes it more versatile, so you can split them up are wear them as separates (like in my airport outfit below).
2. Splurge: I have joggers and sweatshirts at price points all over the board and I wear them all. But there’s something about reaching for a cashmere set that will add a little bit of luxury to your morning/night – even if it’s just catching up on emails before breakfast or reading bedtime stories to your babies. I’m obsessed with this new cashmere sweater and jogger set – so soft and comfortable! I’m sized up to a small because I like my loungewear a little
3. The Slipper: Last but not least, added a fluffy pair of slippers makes more of a difference than you might think. I posted these yesterday and got so many comments/questions. They are super fluffy and although you’ll only wear them around the house, there’s something about a cute pair of shoes that makes you feel pulled together – even if it’s just slippers! 4. Versatile: The thing I love most about investing in good quality loungewear is when you can wear them with your regular everyday clothes. I wore the sweater from my set on a trip to Milwaukee and got so many compliments on the it. Outfit deets below 🙂
