Spring fever and spring fashion have me all 🤩 for the upcoming season! I feel like spring style is always a breath of fresh air after a long winter of neutrals and thick layers so I get a rush every time spring styles hit the shelves (or sites :).  Here are 3 spring staples as we roll into 2022 spring fashion that will be the star of the show this season:

CLEAN DENIM (WEARING SIZE 25 IN THIS PAIR)

Non-distressed denim. I’m loving the clean silhouettes. It opens endless doors for dressing up your denim with a feminine blouse (obsessed with the cut, color, pretty much everything about this one) or a more tailored top. But you can dress them down with a cropped tee and sneakers for casual cool look that still looks pulled together.

A BRIGHT SHOE

We are seeing so much color this season. Shoes are the easiest way to incorporate color into your look if you’re more of a neutral lover. This pretty shade of green has me hooked. Bold shoes will be one of the biggest spring staples this season.

A TEXTURED BLAZER (WEARING SIZE 10)

One of my favorite spring staples that I end up wearing all year long is a textured blazer. The styling opportunities are endless: with a pretty spring blouse and denim as we transition between seasons, belted with a pair of biker shorts and tall boots, or over a slip dress for evening out. It all comes down to the texture for me, especially in lighter tones for spring so you can appreciate the detail. Love the color and texture of this one – such amazing quality that can carry all your favorite looks into spring and beyond.

When I first saw this stunning coat online at Saks, I could not take my eyes off of it and now I can’t take it off. From the colors to the patter-play to the silhouette, everything about it is perfection. It ties blues, oranges, tans, pinks, and greens so seamlessly making this coat one of the easiest outwear pieces to mix in with the rest of your fall essentials. I love it layered over this sweater dress. It adds immediate wow-factor to an otherwise simple/cozy combo. I feel like this coat will be one of those heirloom pieces that gets passed down – it’s so unique in the colors/prints but the silhouette is timeless. Obsessed!

I’ve also had the biggest weakness for YSL bags this year. I’ve been pretty restrained as far as new designer bags in the last few years, so I have been breathing some life into my bag collection this year with a few stunning bags that make a big splash like this mini boucle bag and this leather & linen combo last seen here. One of my favorite spring silhouettes is a long layer over a shorter hem like shorts or a mini skirt. It’s such a fresh look and the layers bring a lot of interest to the outfit. I’m an Apple girl through and through, but there’s one thing I’ve never been able to pull the trigger on: the Apple watch. And there was really only one thing holding me back: the straps 🙈. The past few years, especially with watches and bracelets, I’ve been more into investment pieces – classic, quality, and timeless pieces that would last forever. So trading out my favorite fine jewelry pieces for an Apple watch wasn’t on my radar at all. Last week I saw LAGOS launched a bunch of STUNNING Apple straps at Nordstrom. I loved their stainless steel watchband and I guess now I’m an Apple watch person 😂.

LAGOS has the prettiest pieces and can instantly elevate even the simplest looks – my tee, jeans, and bag are all under $100 but it’s crazy what a few high-end jewelry pieces can do to transform a basic look. This is one of my favorite dress designers (has been for years!). I last minute bought one of this designer’s dresses in CA last spring and could not stop wearing it. Their dresses are super flattering but I especially love this one! Similar smocked bodice and full sleeves but also so different from the dress above! I love the lightweight poplin fabric and the tiered skirt. It feels super easy to wear and really versatile – perfect one-and-done outfit for spring/summer, the beach, traveling, etc. I ended up returning this one and keeping the one below but I loved both!

BLUE TIERED MINI DRESS

This dress I’ve already worn a couple times. I love the combo of the multiple shades of blue with the micro floral print. Another options that’s really easy to wear for tons of occasions. It’s also on major sale right now – 50% off!

Every couple years I’ll pull the trigger on a designer tee and this year I couldn’t pass up on this Fendi tee. I’m obsessed with the color and the logo stitching on the front. I don’t own a ton of designer tees but the ones I do own get worn on repeat. They are all amazing quality and you can literally wear them forever if you take care of them, whereas with other tees you might get only a year or two of wear before it starts to fade or loose shape. All this to say… love this Fendi tee and will be wearing it for years! Haha. Perfect tee to wear with some cut-off shorts or dress up with some pretty high-waisted trousers and heels. Also can we talk about these pants?! The color is everything! Love the whole look paired with this mini-crossbody.

DETAILS: VERSACE RECTANGULAR SUNGLASSES

No matter what you spend on your wardrobe, there are three pieces that can always elevate your look – shoes, handbags, and sunglasses. These are the things I invest in the most. The timeless pieces that will last for years. They make any outfit seem more high-end but also can make anyone feel more chic and put together. (Also just throwing this out there – between a good pair of sunglasses and a cute face mask, you’re pretty much guaranteed to look put together even when you’re not haha.)  Sunglasses especially are my most-worn accessory year-round. Utah’s at a higher elevation so the sun is just as blinding in the winter as the summer (and it sometimes even worse when it’s reflecting off the snow). So I’ve learned to invest in high-quality sunglasses I love. Even if they are a splurge at first, I usually end up wearing them a ton so it comes out to a lower cost per wear than with other pieces I might only wear a handful of times.

This pair of rectangular Versace sunglasses available at Nordstrom is so beautiful and I am obsessed with the detail on the temple. Also, the size is perfect – a little oversized but not over the top. Sunglasses are super versatile but that doesn’t mean they don’t affect your look. These have that classic silhouette and feel like a glamorous nod to the vintage, Hollywood movie stars. Love them dressed up with a pretty full-sleeved top but they also add that cool feeling to an edgier look like a shoulder pad tee and faux leather pants. Also got this pair – so good!

For a no-brainer necklace stack, I always start with a pendant at a length that hits just above your décolletage. Since pendant chains are typically daintier, I like to break it up with a chunkier chain for the next layer,  like this link necklace. It’s most flattering if one of your layers hits are your collarbone and this twisted chain necklace is really the perfect length! It’s probably my most worn necklace at the moment.

Happy Wednesday! We just made it back home from Lake Powell – I had super limited cell service while I was there, so I will be sharing all of my pictures and a travel post for any of you who have questions about it soon!

Last week in NYC, I stopped by a showroom that has some of my favorite brands and was in love with this dress the second I laid eyes on it. If you’re not familiar with the brand, it’s called Retrofête. All their pieces are so beautiful! Blake Lievely wote a yellow version of one of their sequin dresses to a premiere a couple months ago with her baby bump and it was soooo cute!

I think every girl should own an embellished, statement piece like this, not just for those occasions that call for a dressier vibe, but I think everyone should have that dress in their closet that makes them feel confident and they they are excited to put on just because! Nothing is more beautiful than a confident woman, and sometimes that confidence shines even brighter in a dress that makes you feel amazing!

There are always ebbs and flows with my style – I go from craving comfy loungewear all day to the urge to dress up for everything! I’ve loved being able to keep it cool and casual this summer, but there’s nothing like a good shopping haul to get my out of my style rut! I found some amazing pieces recently and wanted to share details on some of my favorites so keep scrolling to see what I’ve been adding to my cart lately:

1. PLAID BLAZER – There’s something about a plaid blazer that feels really high end, and this one is no exception! I couldn’t believe it was under $100 – love the red/brown tones in brings in!

2. TAN SUEDE SLINGBACK HEELS – Two of the best current shoe trends in one shoe – slingback kitten heels! These are incredibly chic and perfect with a dress or  jeans.

3. WIDE LEG DENIM – Speaking of denim, how good is this pair! I realized I wouldn’t be able to fit into these for a few months, but they are bookmarked and I’ll be coming back for them post-partum. Love the crop!

4. BURGUNDY DRESS – I was so excited when I zipped this dress up, despite my bump. I sized up to a large and there’s a slight stretch to the fabric, so it fit perfectly! It’s an investment, but between the color and the silhouette, it’s worth it.

5. DENIM BOMBER JACKET – Love at first sight with this jacket! It looks like a hug in outerwear form and gets me so excited for fall!

6. CAMEL COAT – I’ve been looking for a good, neutral wool coat for this upcoming fall and after looking at hundreds, I decided on this one. It’s a great price point and looks a lot more expensive than it is. (Last seen in this post!)

7. BLACK DOLMAN DRESS – The perfect mix of sophisticated and casual, this dress is punching above its weight. Take it to the office, cocktails after, or out for the weekend running errands with sneakers.

8. WHITE SANDALS – I found myself adding multiple versions of this shoe to my cart but they are all too good to choose just one! Also love this nude pair and got this lace up sandal.

9. PEARL HOOP EARRINGS – I’m all about the pearl everything we are seeing right now! These are the perfect statement earrings with a feminine top or pretty dress.

10. RUFFLED DRESS – Because I love this dress too much not to share again. Another piece that I was so grateful worked with the bump!

11. DENIM – Levi’s always has the best boyfriend and straight leg denim, and always at a great price point under $100! Revisiting these in September/October after I can fit in jeans again, haha.

12. SATIN CAMISOLE – A satin cami is one of my wardrobe staples. I take multiple on every trip, and style them with different outfits year-round. I love the fabric on this one and it actually looks more expensive than it’s price tag.

13. SUNGLASSES – Sometimes all you need is an oversized pair of sunglasses to make you feel like it’s going to be a good day. Can’t believe these are under $100!

14. STAR EARRINGS – While they might have been pretty enough online for me to order them, these are 100x better in real life! Add a pretty dress, and voila! (Photo evidence here 😉 Definitely one of my favorites from this shopping haul.

15. LEOPARD TOTE – I am a sucker for a good tote! Between my laptop and work stuff to some of the kids toys, my bags can’t be too big so I love the ease of throwing everything into this bag with a simple jeans and tee outfit to add some pattern.

16. LEOPARD DRESS – The leopard thing isn’t going away anytime soon, so just embrace it! Love the print and silhouette of this one.

17. PEARL SCRUNCHY – Like I said, it’s the year of pearl! I’ve seen so many great statement hair accessories, but this scrunchy can’t be beat!

18. BLUE RUFFLED DRESS – Another flirty, feminine mini dress that works just as well with sneakers as it does with feminine, lace-up sandals. Love the floral print on this one!

OPTION #1 : GREY TULLE DRESS

I had to throw a neutral option in the mix, right? We ordered Cody a statement suit (which you’ll see further down) and I thought something simple like this grey dress would make the perfect pairing. I actually loved this option! The silhouette, the elegant off-the-shoulder sleeves, plus it’s a great budget-friendly option. It didn’t fit the funky formal theme as well though, so onto my next option!

DETAILS: RED RUFFLED DRESS

The ruffled dress of my dreams, this one was definitely a statement dress. The embellished detailing, the ruffles, the ombre tulle – what’s not to love?! The only problem was it clashed a bit with Cody’s suit options so it ended up in the no pile, but if I were going solo it might have been a close call.

DETAILS: OFF THE SHOULDER DRESS

This. Dress!!! The first thing that got me was the silhouette with the gorgeous flowy pleats and sleeves, but when I saw it in person the hand-dyed effect on the color was insane. Honestly such a breathtaking piece of art! One small problem… I couldn’t zip it up 😭 Pregnancy life!!  I had sized up two sizes but underestimated how big my bump had gotten (especially in the evenings.) Still such an amazing dress and definitely one of my favorites.

DETAILS: PINK DRESS | CODY’S FLORAL SUIT COAT & TROUSERS

Neon and floral! When I heard the theme was funky formal, my first thought was neon so I was immediately drawn to this one by Leanne Marshall. I love the strap detailing and the hem line makes it flow beautifully. Here’s that statement suit for Cody I mentioned earlier. We found a ton of floral suit options here and I love how fun they are! Great for any upcoming summer events.

If any of you missed my stories, Beckam is addicted to wearing his suit non-stop again! After he grew out of his last suit, he kind of let it go for a minute but now that he has one that fits him, it’s all he wants to wear! Literally wants to wear it to school every single day. Lavender and lilac are huge colors this year, but as much as I love pastels I’ve been a little hard-pressed to find any piece that really sold me on the color trend until this dress! I was looking for something springy for Easter and when I stumbled on this showstopper. I am a sucker for ruffled sleeves and obsessed with pretty back cut-outs, but rarely do you find both combined so perfectly in one dress! Now I’m seeing lavender dresses everywhere and need them all. I love this maxi option which also has a great back cut-out (great for a wedding or dressier occasions this spring/summer!) or this option for simpler silhouette. This is the dress (under $100) I got last Easter which comes in multiple colors, including a pretty lavender and a lilac shade.. It really is such a beautiful color and perfect for spring!

Well…it’s officially COLD here in Utah!!  All the pretty leaves and colors I have been raving about for months now are gone and it’s just plain cold…but I can’t complain!! I seriously love bundling up in the cold and doing all of the holiday activities with the family. Even basic errands are more fun because downtown is officially decorated so pretty – so many trees and beautiful lights everywhere. It’s all so magical!

Coats are always one of my very favorite things to buy. I swear you can never have too many! I am obsessed with this new green coat from Saks because its two coats in one. It can be worn without the longer part when its not quite as cold out, and add the longer part over it when it’s freezing! I love the look of both!  For running errands with the family I paired my new coat with easy all black basics. You’ve seen me wear this turtleneck many times before – it’s such a great staple to have in your closet and easy to layer with everything!  Loving these new velvet black skinnies and of course the pop of leopard in my shoes and hat. You could easily swap out the heels for a pair of booties for a more casual look – I recently got these and love them!

Move over – These boots aren’t just made for walkin’! The hiker boot is all things fashion this season and for good reason…. I’m obsessed!  The are so edgy and stylish and transform any look. Decorating for fall is one of my favorite things ever! Well holiday decorating in general! We love going to the pumpkin patch as a family multiple times each year, but sometimes it’s easier just to hit up the grocery store when you’re anxious to make your front porch feel extra festive!  I think everyone can agree that 😉 I stopped by TJ’s the other day after work and loaded my trunk with pumpkins. They have the best pumpkin selection and pumpkin flavored everything 😉

I have been really drawn to all black looks lately. I feel like the older I get the more I opt for classic pieces I can wear multiple seasons.. The outfit might look “fancier”, but keeping it all black and simple made is so easy and effortless to get ready! This comfy black dress, black bag and boots are quality staples that I know I will wear over and over. Just add a big cozy jacket to it and you are set for a chilly day! This coat is probably the softest thing I own, it’s faux fur which makes me really happy too 😉

October is finally here!!! My favorite time of the year for so many reasons.  In Utah the trees are the prettiest colors ever! We go on drives through the mountains for no reason, with no destination in mind. Cody got a new old school car that can go up in the mountains, or on rough trails so we went up the canyon and found the most gorgeous trails and trees. The temperature is finally not too warm, we get to pull out all of the cozy sweaters (yay for #sweaterweather!!) and boots I picked out this jean jacket that I am obsessed with – I love that it isn’t the basic jean jacket and has the faux fur sleeves and collar. It goes perfectly with my favorite new white boots!  This amazing sweater will also be on repeat…it’s seriously so so soft.
