This Is It: The Statement Layer I’ll Be Wearing With Everything
Layers add to any look and this comfy statement layer is giving me all the fall feels, I know I will be wearing it on repeat this season. It’s so versatile I pretty much had it on 24/7 this weekend while we were in Sun Valley, with leggings, joggers, jeans. I didn’t get great outfit shots of all of my looks but I wanted to share a few inspo looks for how to style this statement layer that you’ll want to wear all season long:

This is a recreation of my travel style look for the drive up. Oversized layers with a cropped tank and leggings (these have pockets and love the material, especially around the waist) are one of my favorite travel style combos – super easier to wear and perfect to peel layers when you get too hot. I also always travel with an oversized tote or duffel (you can never have enough room for snacks, electronics, chargers, whether you’re flying or driving) and this is one I’ve had for years. The quilting is super lightweight and the strap is really comfortable, plus multiple pockets. Also have to call out these Nikes because I wore them all weekend too and still can’t get enough of the cool neon colors. Cody loved them so much he had me order for him too.

When in doubt, one of my favorite ways for styling a statement layer is to let it do all the talking. Keep the rest of your look simple, either with monochromatic colors or shorter hems so the jacket gets all the attention. Love a good oversized shirt jacket over a matching shorts set like this boucle set (top and bottoms both under $50). To keep it feeling seasonal, go for a tall boot. I’m in love with these gorgeous white heeled boots. 😍 So stunning and it will put any outfit over the top. Also a great way to transition a boxy, patchwork coat for a night out.

I can’t count how many times during the fall I end up in a sweater, jeans, and boots. A good quilted, patchwork jacket is a great way to break up an everyday look. This one mixes prints and colors so seamlessly, so it’s easy to coordinate with lots of different color palettes and created a ton of visual interest for even the simplest looks. Love the way it pairs with this pretty quilted tote – couldn’t believe the price, especially now that it’s on sale!
